Agnus Dei;

The film Agnus Dei, of 25 minutes, shows dancers viewing the Lamb and reacting to it, lying on its Altar of newspapers on a big square in the city center of Rotterdam, with its head near a picture of a Nazi concentration camp during World War II with the text  “Man is capable of anything”.
Next the dancers move through three doorposts which are placed on the beach and painted with the blood of the Lamb. By passing through they show their decision to enter a new life in freedom.
The last dance was filmed in the north of the Netherlands in a medieval Franciscan church with a glass rooftop. It first shows the dead Lamb lying on an altar and then it tells about its Resurrection and how the death gladly rise from their graves rejoicing in the Living Lamb of God.

During the film—which was broadcast this year during Easter by the Dutch Evangelical TV—a voice-over is telling the Gospel.
Ellen Schuring, a well-known soprano solist performing with leading Dutch choirs,
is improvising on the themes.
She also sings a song which she created especially for this project.
The other music was composed by Benno van der Velde, the sound engineer.
Camerawork was done by Jan Willem de Bok and Stefan Wittekamp.
