The liberation of the Spirit
When Jesus is being baptized a dove descends on Him as a sign of fulfillment of the Holy Spirit.

In this work of art I bring together all these :
Water from the Jordan River
Earth from the Mount of Olives
the Lamb of God on the front of the Altar
and the Dove…..comes from The Netherlands
According to the book Genesis man was made of clay, a simple mix between water and earth.
These two raw materials are also very elementary in the story of Jesus: He was born and He died on Israelian earth and He was baptized in the water of the Jordan River.
But a third element should not be missed: the Spirit.
After Jesus’ baptism the Spirit descended upon Jesus in the shape of a dove.
After Easter it becomes Whitsuntide and new life bursts out among his followers.
